世华学校校长开学寄语：愿你在这个春天，找到驰骋的方向

Dear parents, students and friends of CWA,

As the new semester begins, we extend a warm welcome to our returning students and familiesas well as to the new students joining us. The start of a term is always a moment filled with anticipation, a blank canvas on which we will collectively paint the experiences, growth, and achievements of the months ahead. We step into this semester with renewed energy and a shared commitment to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

This term also brings special energy to our campus with the arrival of our Sparks 1 students. We are delighted to welcome them as they will be spending the second semester with us here at CWA. Their presence is a wonderful opportunity for us to embody the collaborative spirit of the UWC movement. During their time with us, they will be immersing themselves in the ethos and working methods of the IB Diploma Program, building the foundational skills needed for their future academic journey and making the most of CWA IB experience and expertise. More importantly, they will engage deeply with the core UWC values from intercultural understanding to personal responsibility through our unique community life. We are confident that their integration into CWA will enrich our entire student body and deepen our shared commitment to the CWA/ UWC collaboration.

As we look ahead, let us remember that every interaction is a chance to learn, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. We encourage our students to embrace new perspectives, support one another, and engage fully in both academic and extracurricular life.

春光作序，万物和鸣。告别寒假的休整，我们满怀希冀重返校园，开启新一年的学习旅程。

今年是农历马年。马，象征着奔腾向前、锐意进取的精神。新的学期，恰如一片辽阔的原野，等待着我们策马扬鞭，驰骋其中。上学期结业典礼上，我曾与大家谈及“马马虎虎”的警示——它提醒我们，真正的奔腾不是漫无目的的奔跑，而是方向清晰、蹄疾步稳的前行。

新的学期，愿每一位同学都能以“一马当先”的勇气迎接挑战，以“跃马扬鞭”的姿态投入学习。在课堂上专注聆听，在活动中尽情绽放，在细节中打磨自己。用严谨代替敷衍，以专注驱散懈怠，在每一次全力以赴中积蓄成长的力量。

在万象更新的起点，愿每一位世华人都有驰骋千里的志向，也有一丝不苟的坚持。期待在接下来的日子里，见证你们活力满满、驰骋向前的模样。

Spring brings new beginnings, and with fresh hope, we return to campus after the winter break to embark on another year of learning.

This year is the Year of the Horse in the lunar calendar—a symbol of momentum, vigor, and forward progress. The new semester lies before us like a vast, open field, inviting us to gallop ahead with purpose. At last semester's closing ceremony, I shared a caution against being "careless"—a reminder that true progress is not aimless motion, but steady, intentional advance.

This term, may every student greet challenges with the courage to lead, and engage in studies with spirited dedication. Listen attentively in class, shine brightly in activities, and refine yourselves in the details. Replace carelessness with rigor, and distraction with focus. May every effort become a source of strength and growth.

At this moment of renewal, may everyone here nurture both grand aspirations and steadfast diligence. I look forward to seeing all of you moving forward with vitality and purpose in the days ahead.

新春启序，万象更新。欢迎大家重返校园，开启充满希望的新学期。过去的假期是休整与沉淀，更是为新的探索积蓄力量；新的学期，学术部愿与每一位同学并肩同行，在求知路上坚定前行。

学术成长，始于好奇，成于坚持。希望你们保持对知识的敬畏与热爱，主动思考、大胆提问，不止于标准答案；认真对待每一堂课、每一次任务、每一场交流，积极参与课堂讨论，开展课题探究与学术活动，把细节做好，把基础打牢，在积累中实现稳步提升，在合作与思辨中逐渐成长。

与此同时，我们需要了解，学习从来不是孤军奋战。遇到困惑时，不妨主动向老师请教，与同学交流，学会利用资源、寻求支持，在互相启发中突破瓶颈。

Dear Students,

As the new spring begins and everything takes on a fresh look, welcome back to campus for a promising new semester. The past holiday was a time for rest and reflection, and also for gathering strength for new explorations. In this new semester, the Academic Department stands side by side with every one of you as we move forward on the journey of learning.

Academic growth starts with curiosity and thrives through perseverance. We hope you maintain respect and a passion for knowledge, think independently, ask bravely, and never settle for standard answers. Take every lesson, assignment, and interaction seriously; participate actively in class discussions, research projects, and other academic activities. Focus on the details, build a solid foundation, make steady progress through accumulation, and grow through collaboration and critical thinking.

Meanwhile, we must remember that learning is never a solo battle. When you meet challenges, do not hesitate to consult your teachers and communicate with your classmates. Learn to use resources and seek support, so that you can break through difficulties with mutual inspiration.

May you set clear goals, stay focused, explore bravely, and move steadily toward your dreams this semester. The Academic Department will always be with you, supporting your every attempt, witnessing your every growth, and celebrating your every progress and joy!

Welcome back to all members of our CWA community!

As we begin Semester 2 at CWA, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has already been an incredibly positive start to the academic year. Semester One is always a time of transition in any school. New students join our community, classes reshuffle, and year groups step into new academic and pastoral expectations. It takes time for individuals and cohorts to find their rhythm. I have been proud of the resilience, adaptability and kindness shown by our community as they navigated these natural changes with maturity and optimism.

Now, as we move into the second semester, the energy shifts. Like spring, this is the season where growth becomes visible. Confidence grows, friendships blossom and naturally students start to shine. Students begin to see the results of the foundations they laid earlier in the year.

Before we know it, we will move into summer. This is a shorter but intense and exciting semester. For some of our older students, this will include external examinations and the proud moment of graduating to their dream universities. For others, it will be a time of important internal milestones and personal breakthroughs.

In the Year of the Horse, a symbol of opportunity and courage, I encourage every member of our community to embrace challenge with confidence. Step beyond your comfort zone. Take academic risks and support one another, aligned with our values of passion, respect, grit and learning by doing. Growth does not happen by chance: it happens when we choose to be brave and gallop like a horse into the exciting future.

Let this semester be one of purpose, progress and pride.

踏入第二学期，我想借此机会，和大家一同回味这个学年那美好又充满活力的开端。在每一所学校里，第一学期都像一段“磨合期”：新同学融入集体，班级结构重新调整，每个年级的孩子都在迎接学业与品格上新的挑战。无论对个人还是整个年级来说，找到自己的节奏都需要时间。我很骄傲地看到，我们这个社群展现出了令人动容的韧性、适应力，以及彼此之间的善意。大家以成熟和乐观，稳稳地走过了那些自然而来的变化。

如今走进第二学期，校园里的气息也悄然不同了。恰如春天，这是成长的季节——自信悄悄滋长，友情深深扎根，孩子们开始自然地闪耀自己的光芒。他们正一步步收获着学期初播下的种子所带来的成果。

再过不久，我们便会迎来夏季学期。虽然时间更紧凑，但却格外充实而热烈。对一些高年级同学来说，这是迎战外部考试、靠近梦想大学的荣耀时刻；对另一些孩子，则将是实现一个个里程碑、实现自我突破的关键阶段。

今年是马年，一个象征勇气与机遇的年份。我想鼓励我们社群的每一位成员：满怀自信迎接挑战，勇敢地走出舒适区，大胆尝试，彼此扶持，在日常的学习与生活中践行我们珍视的价值观——热情、尊重、坚韧、在实践中学习。成长从来不是偶然发生，而是因为我们选择像骏马一样，勇敢奔向未来。

愿这个学期，属于每一个人的，是目标、是进步，是闪闪发光的自豪感。
